Bali exudes immense charm through its breathtaking beaches, remarkable temples, beautiful countryside, amazing rice fields and friendly people. Bali is a total package and the best part is it’s
inexpensive.

Bedgul Temple |
Bali is an amalgamation of culture and fun. There are numerous beautiful temples for sightseeing like Tanah Lot, Uluwatu temple, Bedgul temple, Besakih temple and the list is endless. At the same time, Bali is blessed with beautiful sandy beaches, crystal blue water and buzzing night life.

Chicken Satay with Steamed Rice and Shrimp Cracker |
Bali has world class pubs and the food is finger licking good. If you are a Pigeterian or a seafood lover, then Bali is bliss for you. Don’t forget to gorge on crisp red snapper, juicy prawns served with garlic sauce, salad and rice, deep fried calamari rings, chicken satay. If this is not enough to tickle your taste buds then try the famous Bintang beer. However, my personal recommendation is Stark beer which is exclusively available only in Stark’s house, Bali. One can easily do pub hopping in Bali; party and drink until the wee hours. Bali is a paradise for party lovers with happy hours starting from 10 pm and ending at 1 am in the Legian street, Kuta.

Tanah Lot Temple |
I love Bali for the people and their hospitality. The localities have a very funny accent where diving is diping, have is hape, coffee is kopi and photo is poto. I was lucky to get a wonderful guide as a driver who took me around the city. Interestingly we both shared love for coffee and he was kind enough to take me to the world famous coffee “Kopi Luwak” farm

Deva - Travel Guide |
Bali is a hot spot for water sports. You name it, they have it; banana ride, paragliding, snorkeling, sea walker, jet skiing and of course scuba. Scuba diving in Bali is phenomenal. I, being a rookie, opted to dive at Tanjung Benoa. I arrived alone at Tanjung Benoa beach for my first ever dive, being absolutely unaware of my next 60 minutes. A motor boat escorted me to the diving spot and an experienced and trained guide introduced me to the dos and don’ts of diving and how to use diving equipments. I had negotiated 2 dives in 45 USD. Before taking a plunge in the calm seawater, thousands of negative thoughts had blocked my mind. The first underwater experience other than the swimming pool scared me to death. For a jiffy, I was ready to forgo my money and just go back. I am thankful to my guide, who didn’t give up on me in spite of my antics. The experience of underwater scenery, ornamental fishes, and pristine coral reefs was miraculous. There is a whole new world beneath the calm surface of the sea water which is absolutely mesmerizing. I could feel the tranquility of the life underwater even more in my second dive. I was oozing with confidence and walked on the sea surface with the help of iron rods placed strategically. I would have stayed there forever, but time is money.
On my way back to the shore, I could only appreciate how life teaches you some greatest lessons in the simplest way. We often become nervous and anxious before venturing in a new territory but once we get accustomed to the ripples of life we overcome our own fears. C'est La Vie!
I am back in India with some vivid memories and wonderful experiences that would live within me forever. Be it accommodation, transport, food & drinks, partying or water sports, everything is low priced in Bali. Whether you buy an iPhone 6 or make a trip to Bali; the choice is yours. If you want to unwind yourself, relax in the serenity of nature and get drowned in some great music and food then Bali is the destination for you. Don't forget to shop and while shopping, bargaining is a must.
I appreciate this journey not only for the places I saw, the people I met and the adventures I did but for valuing my own company and exploring it beyond India. I am ever more confident, ever more determined than before…
